When part of the tooth, single tooth or multiple teeth are lost, the effects of the loss may not be evident right away. Some think that they can utilize other, remaining teeth to substitute the function of the broken or missing tooth. Unfortunately when a single part of the whole is lost, slowly, remaining teeth and surrounding structures will slowly start to change. Some of the first things that happens, is the loss of bone and tissue around the missing tooth. That usually starts affecting supporting structures of nearby teeth, weakening them and allowing them to drift into the empty space. Eventually other changes follow – opposing teeth start shifting and erupting therefore creating less than ideal bite relationship that can then lead to further destruction of the teeth and bone.
Our goal in restoring your teeth is to bring back the proper function and alignment so that you can retain the health of the remaining dentition for the rest of your life.
